This inland links course recreates the Scottish sand dune landscape on the ocean shore. Dunes up to thirty feet high tower up in front of woodlands, and sparse vegetation with gorse and heather together with deep sandpits shape the image of the golf course.

Tip from Stephan Peters
The first drive from the tee is already a challenge, as this par-4 is usually played upwind. With the first stroke, try to keep to the left-hand side of the fairway. This opens up the view to the well-guarded green. Long hitters may choose to use a driver to shorten the dog-leg.

Don’t be deceived by the spaciously designed fairway on this par-4 – your positioning when teeing-off is decisive. For a good approach to the green, stay in front of the top bunker. The green is guarded by a deep grassy bunker at the left front.

Tip from Stephan Peters
This par-5 is relatively short, but contains a few refinements. The best landing zone is situated on the right-hand half of the fairway, which falls away to the left, so ideally the ball can remain in the dogleg. When choosing a club to tee-off, remember the height difference. Tactics are called for here. The second stroke should also be made with an eye to the different heights and the hollows and bunkers. When making the stroke towards the green, pay attention to the position of the pin: there is a step five feet high between the two levels.

Hole 4, with a generously-sized open landing zone, is also a dogleg. Don’t cut this too much, since the ball will otherwise get trapped in the high dunes. The fairway full of dunes, but the green is guarded by only a single bunker at the front right – so approach it from the left.

Teeing-off on this medium-length par-3 is deceptive, because the playing area around the green is considerably bigger than it looks. A single pot bunker guards the green at the right-hand side. Look forward to exciting breaks. You need your trained eye here.

Tip from Stephan Peters
When teeing-off, keep your shot to the right to keep the slope on the left side out of play. For the second stroke, it is advantageous to include the deep pot bunker in your decision. The big green is very undulating. Good tactics at this hole make a decisive contribution to success.

Tip from Stephan Peters
Don’t let yourself be intimidated: the right choice of club is most decisive for this long, rising par-3. It is better to keep to the right-hand side for strokes that don’t reach the green, since the approach to the tiered green is open from there. Balls rolling over the green will be held up by the slopes and will remain nearby.

Tip from Stephan Peters
To reach the preferred landing zone on the fairway on this short par-4, you must play to the left along the big dune. The fairway opens up to the right behind the dune. But look out for the two fairway bunkers. The perched green, sloping slightly downwards at the rear, is guarded by steep grassy hollows on the right.

Tip from Stephan Peters
The split fairway gives you two options when playing this hole. The distance to the fairway is somewhat shorter along the left than on the right. On the fairway on the right side, however, you have a better angle for the stroke into the green, which is guarded by grassy hollows.

Tip from Stephan Peters
Take a moment here to enjoy the magnificent view across our “Grand Canyon”. Then place your tee shot on the left half of the fairway so as to reach a good starting position. The green is guarded by a deep hollow on the right-hand side. Therefore you should rather keep to the left when playing onto the green.

Majestic and demanding. If you miss the green on the left side, the steep slope can make reaching par almost impossible. On the other hand, if you play along the right side, you have the possibility of an easy approach. For this, however, you must play over the pot bunker situated 44 yards in front of the green.

For long hitters, the narrow green of this par-5 is reachable with two risky shots along the right-hand rough edge. The rule for other players: there’s a lot of space in the curve of the dogleg. Place your second shot on the left half of the fairway. The green, which is situated on a plateau, is guarded by a deep pot bunker on the left.

Hole 13 is the shortest hole – but don’t underestimate it. Several pot bunkers and hollows can make the approach to the green more difficult. Pay attention to the pin position, because this can be decisive.

Tip from Stephan Peters
Two dunes on the left on this par-4 lead along the two-level fairway. Here, you have the better stroke into the green from the right, although you must then overcome the “Grand Canyon” again with your tee shot. Beware of the hollow in the ground at the front right of this undulating green!

Tip from Stephan Peters
The tee shot on this par-4, which has to be played uphill, must be well planned, because the entire landing zone is strewn with bunkers and grassy hollows. The green is not heavily guarded, and can be reached from various angles – however the depth of the green is not recognisable.

Tip from Stephan Peters
From the tee box of this par-4, you have a breath-taking vista across the “Grand Canyon”. Challenge yourself to reach this par-4 with two strokes. The green is slightly raised and protected by deep grassy hollows at the left front, by a deep bunker and by grassy hollows on the right.

-
White348

Tip from Stephan Peters
This narrow par-4 is played across a large “waste area”. Tee shots tend to roll to the middle of the fairway. This enables a good approach to the green, which is closely guarded by dunes. A deep grassy hollow defends the right-hand front of the green. Don’t be visually deceived by the pot bunker in front of the green at the right; there’s still a lot of space behind it.
Hole 18

-
White477
-
Yellow456

Blue456
-
Red369
Tip from Stephan Peters
This par-5 rises continuously to the green, so pay attention to your choice of clubs. Two bunkers defend the right side of the fairway, so a shot on the left-hand half of the fairway is ideal. Bunkers lie to the right of the second landing zone, and the “Grand Canyon” runs along the left. The green is defended by a grassy hollow that deepens to the left.
