Course maintenance

Our greenkeeping: Europe’s digital No. 1

We give the green light when the sun rises – to ensure that our courses play at the very forefront of the European game.

In this regard, our greenkeeping team draws on experience and passion – as well as on a digital equipment fleet that is unparalleled in Europe.

When our machines are in use, it seems like science fiction. But we are equally happy to take care of every detail by hand in the classical way. In either case, you can see and feel our love of the green. On every new round.

DIGITALLY-BASED GREENKEEPING

Intelligent IT for excellent results

Our comprehensive ecosystem of various tools, robots and digital helpers enables us to cover even very specific greenkeeping tasks. The actions of our IT are partly app-based, and they can communicate with each other or be controlled digitally.

We will show you exactly how this functions in our multi-day workshop on the topic of robots in October 2023.

EQUIPMENT FLEET

An overview of our high-performance machines

The ParryMeter

We use this to measure the evenness of the courses. We can determine exactly how the ball rolls, whether it bounces, meanders sideways – or moves in an optimum way. From this we derive concrete maintenance measures or green fee discounts.

The Greensight drone

We use it to take detailed photos of our courses in various presentations three times a week – for example as thermal images. On this basis, we can precisely plan our operations and derive specific tasks for upkeep and watering. Our care products can thus be used in a much more targeted and therefore sustainable way. This is unique in Europe.

Soil Scouts

These little helpers in the ground measure its moisture for us. This way we know exactly how much water we need to irrigate the green so that it thrives optimally.

3D printer

Sometimes there’s a lack of just one component which the retail trade only offers in a bulk pack. Using our 3D printer, we simply make it ourselves – and can put it to use immediately and much more sustainably.

Clegg Hammer

A very helpful tool that allows us to measure exactly the current hardness of the green.

Stimpmeter

How fast and how far does a ball roll over our green? The Stimpmeter allows us to easily measure it – and thus determine a quality parameter of the course at the same time.

Robot mowers and solar panels

This is unique in the world: Our 123 robots currently drive over the courses fully autonomously. Powered by solar energy, they are usually on the move before and after tee times – so it’s almost a bit of a shame that as a player you hardly ever get to see them.

Guideline

How we interact with nature

Greenkeeping is a way of life for us. Especially because the grass at our feet means life. That’s why we treat it sensitively and give it everything it needs to thrive healthily and in excellent quality.

Greenkeeping is exciting at the same time. Because it means change. Every day. For us out here, nature is both a friend and opponent. That’s why we do everything we can to protect our courses and keep them at the highest level.

Our greenkeeping team led by Course Manager Jordan Tschimperle includes 18 experts. They look after our 45-hole facility on an area of almost 200 hectares, and control Europe’s most digitalised equipment fleet at the same time. With drones, Soil Scouts, the ParryMeter and 133 mowing robots that autonomously mow all the courses – supplemented by conventional mowers and equipment. The result of our efforts: You will go into raptures when you play – and we know that our efforts have paid off again.
